ABC Scrapbook | A List For December Daily

abc scrapbook december daily

You know how some children’s books and school worksheets have “a is for apple, b is for ball,” etc.? I’m using that idea to organize my December Daily album by theme (rather than by day). An ABC scrapbook.

Why ABC? Well, I was making a list (and checking it twice, ha ha) of all the things I wanted to include in my DD album, and then it occurred to me that there are 26 letters in the alphabet – close enough to the 25 days in the standard DD album – so why not? I could still scrapbook a page a day, but I could do it out of order if I wanted. It’s genius! (Yes, this is what I told myself in my head. I was also under the influence of Salted Caramel Mocha at the time.)

This is my brainstorming ABC list. I considered things we want to do and things I want to photograph. I also placed the end-of-the-month events at the end so that the album will look like a progression, similar to organizing by day:

ABC List for December

  • Advent calendar, A Christmas Story, Activities
  • Baking, Buying, Behaving, Books
  • Card, Cookies, Caroling, Christmas, Church, Crafts, Candy Canes, Candles, Calendar
  • Decorating, Decorations, Deck the halls, Dancing, Drawings

  • Festivities, Family, Friends, Festivus
  • Games, Gifts, Giving, Gingerbread
  • Hot cocoa, Holiday
  • Instagram, Invitations, Itinerary, Ice skating
  • Jingles (songs), Jolly
  • Kids, Kiss
  • Legos, Lists, Lights, Letter, Laughter
  • Movies, Merry, Mistletoe

  • Visiting, Vespers/Vigil (Christmas Eve church service)
  • Wishes, Wrapping, Wreath
  • Xmas day
  • Yule Log (fireplace), Yuletide, Year-End, Yummy
  • Zzzz (kids in their pajamas)

Of course, I’m only using ONE item for each letter; the others are alternates in case something doesn’t go as planned, like seeing the parade. And obviously my list is Christmas-oriented, but I think there are enough ideas that it could be adapted as needed. The list could be more personalized by adding names of children, pets, a favorite toy, book title, etc. Feel free to add your list suggestions in the comments!
