E : Elf on the Shelf
Today’s page includes an elf hat that peeks out of the top of the page. :)
Or maybe it’s Santa’s hat.
Supplies: The 6×8 paper, 3×4 journaling card and red pom-pom ribbon are from the Studio Calico December Daily kit. The puffy letter stickers, felt and pom-pom were from my stash.
I cut a triangle hat shape (3 inches wide) from thick felt. I hand-stitched a pom-pom to the top of the hat, then stitched the bottom edge of the felt to the page.
I stitched the red pom-pom ribbon to the bottom of the page. It was a little tricky to sew because it kept moving as I was sewing.
When I put the page into the page protector, the pom-poms weren’t very straight, so I used the end of a paint brush to poke them into place.
The top of the hat sticks out of the page protector for fun.
On the journaling card, I’m going to have my children write down some of Elfie’s hiding places this year. The facing page will be a 6×8 photo of our Elf on the Shelf (I wish he would stop hiding in dark places that don’t photograph well). :)
