LEGO Card Tutorial

Lego card tutorialThis 3-D LEGO card is easy to make and perfect for the LEGO® brick lover in your life. It can be used as a birthday card, party invitation, Valentine’s Day card and more.

I made these for my son, a huge LEGO fan. My original plan was to create a card that resembled a minifigure, but that was way too complicated. I thought of a LEGO® brick design after I remembered the 3-D foam dots I had. It’s simple yet fun.

LEGO® Card Tutorial

Materials needed:

Fold a piece of cardstock in half to make a card:

Punch holes in the remaining cardstock. The number of circles needed depends on your card size and punch size; just line up the circles on your card as you punch to determine how many will fit. I used 12 circles.

Attach foam dots to the punched circles. (Hmm… they look like monster eyeballs from a cookie.)

Arrange the dots on the card – “eyeball” it (ha!) or measure and mark the placement spots with a pencil.

Remove the remaining backing from the foam dots and stick to the card.

Valentine’s Day LEGO Card

Lego white

These little cards can be made quickly by using a store-bought pack of white cards with envelopes (the one shown is 2.5×3.5″). Add a heart sticker to one of the circles, or a punched heart in place of one of the circles. Include a clever note inside, such as “I’ll never LEGO of you.”

I’d love to see your LEGO card designs and ideas for what to write inside – leave a comment and include a link to your card!

Used this for a birthday card. I choose to do it in yellow then on the inside I simply entered “It’s your Birthday so” then pasted a copy of the Lego trademark and under that put “and have fun”. Using the trademark made it just that much more … well Lego like.
